NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint

After the disaster of the L’Oreal Eye Paint I reviewed a couple of months ago, I was hesitant to try another liquid eyeshadow with a doe foot applicator. But the swatches of these NXY Lid Lingerie eyeshadows looked so beautiful that I had to give them a go. Plus I love NYX so what could possibly go wrong!

NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tints

I picked up the shades Sweet Cloud and Evening Spell which are a light goldy colour and a deep red. There are 12 more shades in the collection, mostly nudes or goldy shades but there are is also a baby blue and a bright white, if you’re looking for a bolder look. These are £6 each for 4ml of product. As the eye tint itself is so pigmented you will only need a little every time meaning that they should last for a while.

Formula & Finish
These products are described as a “weightless eye tint” with a “delicate pearl finish”. To me an eye tint would suggest a light wash of colour over the lid, but I found these to be so incredibly pigmented. I applied them straight from the tube with the doe-foot applicator and then quickly blended them out before they dried. Just a note on that point, these dry quick! Like, real quick. The first time I used them, I didn’t blend soon enough and they dried down in the ugly, un-blended manner in which I had applied it. So that’s worth bearing in mind – blend, blend, blend!

However, the good thing that comes from this is that once they have set, they do not move. Seriously, no smudging, no fading or creasing (when paired with an eye primer) and I’ve worn these for a good 10-12 hours at a time. They still look amazing by the end of the day, even if the rest of my makeup is sliding off my face! They go on really easily and are super pigmented, so one swipe is enough.

I have also tried using them as eyeliners – simply dispensing some of the product out on to the back of my hand and then applying with an eyeliner brush. They work beautifully as eyeliner, and as I said before, they will not budge! They could also be good to use to achieve a cut crease, however, as I have not yet reached that level of makeup mastery, I cannot vouch for that – just an idea! Below I used Sweet Cloud for a more day-time look by just blending it all over the lid, and Evening Spell for a more night-time look by applying to the lid and using a light reddish-brown through the crease.

Overall, I love these NYX eye tints (a lot more than the L’Oreal Eye Paints!) and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a bold, pigmented and long-lasting liquid eyeshadow!
